Job Summary /Description

WCSC Live 5 has an immediate opening for a Traffic Anchor/MMJ for the market's #1 morning newscast. As one of the fastest‑growing cities in the country, traffic in the Charleston metro is one of Live 5's top priorities. The successful candidate will be a strong anchor who can build traffic maps, ad‑lib breaking news, and is quick to pick up the phone and track down information.

They will be expected to build a strong knowledge of the area's traffic trouble spots and communicate how to safely navigate around them. The position also entails MMJ responsibilities, including turning packages and live shots a few times per week.

Duties / Responsibilities
  • Must be prepared to work early morning, holidays & weekends as assigned
  • Must have good writing skills
  • Be able to work well under strict deadline pressure
  • MMJ experience preferred
  • Knowledge of the Charleston area preferred
  • Will report on issues relevant to the community
  • Will shoot video, write, edit, and post all news stories
Qualifications / Requirements
  • The successful applicant's background must include, at a minimum, a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism or a related field.
  • You must be a self‑starter, with knowledge of and ability to operate state‑of‑the‑art television news equipment, as well as website publishing and social media.
  • You MUST provide a link to your resume reel.
