Job Summary

We are seeking a Temporary Call Center Representative to support a team in Charleston, SC during the busy election season. This is a great opportunity for a customer-focused professional who enjoys helping people, providing accurate information, and staying organized in a fast-paced call center environment.

In this temporary Call Center Representative role, you will assist voters, poll workers, and other callers with election-related questions, absentee ballot applications, voter information, and basic troubleshooting. You will be part of a mission-driven team that values accuracy, professionalism, confidentiality, and clear communication. This assignment offers meaningful community-focused work, supportive guidance, and valuable public sector experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Answer incoming calls from voters, poll workers, and other callers in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Provide accurate voter information and guidance using established procedures.
  • Process absentee ballot applications and enter information into computer systems.
  • Troubleshoot basic voter or poll worker questions and elevate issues as needed.
  • Maintain calm, clear, and helpful communication in a fast-paced call center setting.
  • Follow procedures carefully to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and consistent service.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Pay: $17.00 per hour.
  • Job Type: Contract/Temporary.
  • Location:

    Charleston, SC.
  • Start Dates:
    September 14 or September 28.
  • Assignment End Date:
    November 6.
  • Schedule:

    Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with a 1-hour lunch break.
  • Election Day

    Schedule:

    November 3, 6:00 AM until approximately 9:00 PM.
  • Overtime is required on Election Day.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Answer voter and poll worker calls in a professional call center environment.
  • Process absentee ballot applications and enter voter-related information accurately.
  • Provide information, troubleshoot basic issues, and elevate complex questions when needed.
  • Follow established procedures to support accurate and confidential election services.
  • 1 to 2 years of customer service experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal communication and active listening skills.
  • Basic computer skills and accurate data entry ability.
  • Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Dependable attendance and availability for the full temporary assignment.
  • Ability to work the required extended Election Day schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous call center experience.
  • Experience handling high-volume phone calls.
  • Prior public sector, government, administrative, or elections support experience.
  • Familiarity with data entry, customer records, or application processing.
