The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a physician to join our well‑established academic family medicine team at the assistant, associate, or professor level to provide comprehensive primary care. The ideal candidate will be a patient‑centered, compassionate team‑player invested in delivering state‑of‑the‑art clinical care, while also teaching and leading parts of the curriculum for students and/or residents. Any candidate with an interest in medical education will be highly considered.

The department plays a major role in all four years of the medical school curriculum. Our department has a significant presence in the Dean’s Office, including the role of dean, associate deans, and curriculum directors. We also facilitate outreach activities to underserved and vulnerable groups, including people who are unfunded, rural, and/or currently unhoused. The department’s highly successful required core clerkship sends students around the state.

There is potential for this physician to take over part of our work in education. This represents a tremendous opportunity to balance primary care practice with involvement in medical students, residents, and fellows.
