The Department of Languages, Literatures & Cultures at The Citadel seeks applications for adjunct faculty positions in Spanish. Adjunct professors will teach basic and intermediate language courses.
This position is part of a pool of candidates who may be considered; it is not for a specific assignment or a full‑time faculty role.
Minimum Qualifications- Master's degree from an accredited institution in Spanish or a Master's degree in a different discipline with 18 graduate‑level credits in Spanish is required.
- Ability to teach in‑person classes on campus in Charleston, SC.
- Evidence of previous effective teaching experience.
- Completion of Citadel instructor training and adherence to rules and regulations set by the Citadel Center for Excellence and Innovation in Teaching, Learning, and Distance Education (CEITL&DE).
- Interview in the target language prior to employment.
Preference is given to applicants who meet Scholarly Academic, Practice Academic, Scholarly Practitioner, or Instructional Practitioner and are native‑like proficient in the language they desire to teach. Official transcripts indicating education level, interview in the target language, and a background check are required prior to employment.
