Position Summary
The long-term substitute mathematics instructor is responsible for delivering rigorous, engaging mathematics instruction within a faith-based educational environment. This educator supports the intellectual, spiritual, moral, and emotional development of students, integrating Catholic values and teachings into daily classroom practice. The teacher collaborates with faculty, administration, and families to foster a culture of academic excellence and Christian discipleship.
Primary Responsibilities Instruction & Curriculum- Deliver standards-based instruction in calculus (provided by the teacher on leave)
- Incorporate technology and innovative teaching strategies to enhance learning
- Model and promote Catholic values in all interactions with students and the school community
- Uphold and support the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church
- Establish and maintain a respectful, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
- Promote a culture of academic integrity, responsibility, and perseverance
- Effectively manage classroom behavior in alignment with school policies
- Administer formative and summative assessments (provided by teacher on leave)
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance
- Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, education, or a related field
- Commitment to the mission of Catholic education
- Strong content knowledge in secondary mathematics, especially Calculus
- Previous high school teaching experience
- Familiarity with differentiated instruction and inclusive practices
- Practicing Catholic in good standing
- Strong instructional and classroom management skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Organizational and time-management abilities
- Commitment to student-centered learning and academic excellence
- Faith-based academic setting
- Part-time position from October - November
- Adherence to diocesan policies and safe environment requirements
- Completion of background check and required training
- Active participation in the life of the school community
