Position Summary

Wil Lou Gray Opportunity School is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and student-focused Certified Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be committed to helping students achieve academic success while supporting their personal growth, leadership development, and preparation for future education and career opportunities.

• Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction.
• Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Assess student learning and provide timely, meaningful feedback.
• Adapt instruction to meet diverse student learning needs.
• Collaborate with administrators, teachers, counselors, and support staff.
• Maintain accurate student records, grades, and instructional documentation.
• Support students in developing academic, social, and career-readiness skills.
• Promote school expectations, responsibility, teamwork, and positive behavior.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school activities.
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
• Perform other duties as assigned by school administration.

• Current South Carolina teaching certification in the appropriate subject area or eligibility for certification.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Administrative certification preferred.
• Prior administrative or school leadership experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Previous classroom teaching experience preferred.
• Strong classroom-management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds and with varying academic needs.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment.

• Master’s degree preferred.
• Administrative certification preferred.
• Prior administrative or school leadership experience preferred.
