The Superintendent (MEP‑Focused) will lead and manage all on‑site construction activities with a strong emphasis on MEP coordination, sequencing, and integration throughout the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities- Oversee daily field operations with primary accountability for MEP scope execution
, coordination, and quality control - Develop, maintain, and enforce project schedules with a focus on MEP milestones, inspections, and turnover requirements
- Coordinate closely with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection subcontractors, engineers, architects, inspectors, and suppliers to resolve conflicts and maintain constructability
- Review and interpret MEP drawings, specifications, submittals, and RFIs to ensure alignment with project goals and field conditions
- Lead MEP coordination meetings and support clash resolution and system integration with structural and architectural scopes
- Enforce jobsite safety standards with particular attention to high‑risk MEP activities
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients, inspectors, utility providers, and trade partners
- Participate in all project meetings and contribute field‑driven solutions
- Prepare and submit accurate MEP progress reports, inspection logs, commissioning support documentation, and safety reports
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent or MEP‑focused field leader on commercial construction projects
- Strong background in MEP‑intensive projects
, particularly grocery stores, retail, and ground‑up commercial builds - Proven ability to lead and coordinate multiple MEP trades in fast‑paced construction environments
- Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and life safety systems
- Strong leadership, scheduling, and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction management tools (Procore, Bluebeam, scheduling software preferred)
