Position: SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER with Security Clearance
Duties
* Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the Project Execution Section. Develops Section goals and objectives that integrate organization and Engineering Flight objectives.
* Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.
* Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with other elements and flights in Base Civil Engineering and other offices involved in areas related to Section activities.
* Communicates and coordinates Section issues with higher headquarters, regulatory agencies, other installation units, community officials, etc.
* Directs the development and execution of Section budget and preparation of Planning, Programming, and Budgeting System (PPBS) documentation in support of engineering planning and execution.
* Performs planning and design work for substantial multi-phase new construction, renovation, and improvement projects for a variety of real property facilities, including utility systems, utilizing a professional knowledge of engineering concepts, principles and practices and an extensive familiarity with other engineering disciplines and architecture. * The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

* This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program
* The work requires the employee to access facilities and infrastructure which may require climbing on, crawling under or extensive walking at construction sites, hard hat areas or other base areas.
* May be required to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Force during exercises or in the event of an actual emergency.
* The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. A current, valid driver's license may be required.
* Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft or military aircraft.

* You will be required to serve a 1-year supervisory probationary period. Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the basic requirements and specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Professional and Scientific Positions BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:

A. Degree:
Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships);

(c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. OR

B. Combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following:
