Role and Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Engineer / Machine Designer, you will design and optimize automation systems, impacting machinery efficiency, safety, and reliability.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing Automation Equipment: Create innovative designs for machines, robotic end-of-arm tools, fixtures, and other equipment, considering functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Mechanical Layout Documentation: Develop detailed mechanical layouts and document designs clearly for implementation.
  • Prototype Testing: Test and validate prototypes, iterating based on feedback and results.
  • Drawing Packages: Prepare comprehensive drawings for system installation and collaborate with installation teams.
  • Vendor

    Collaboration:

    Work with fabrication vendors to create manufacturing drawings, ensuring alignment with design specifications.
  • Remote Support and Troubleshooting: Provide remote support for system troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving mechanical issues.
  • On-Site Assistance: Occasionally travel to customer sites for installation support and project collaboration.
  • Qualifications and Education

    To succeed, candidates should have:

    • Proficiency in Solid Works for 3D modeling and design.
    • Hands-on practical skills, including passing a design practical test.
    • Knowledge of fabrication processes and materials.
    • Understanding of GD&T standards (ASME Y14.5).
    • Experience in design for manufacturing with cost considerations.
    • Experience working with tooling suppliers.
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
