Education and Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) within a manufacturing environment
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Willingness to flex hours to support training across shifts
Education and Experience
- BA or BS from an accredited college (preferred in Occupational Health & Safety)
- Radiation Safety Officer certification
- Knowledge of training software programs
- Three to five years of wire and cable experience
- Maintain certification as Radiation Safety Officer and ensure compliance with Federal NRC and DHEC Title B State regulations
- Monitor radiation exposure levels for employees and facility
- Maintain and apply knowledge of current policies, regulations, and industrial processes
- Demonstrate integrity, attention to detail, persistence, and stress tolerance
- Exhibit adaptability, concern for others, independence, and achievement orientation
- Support employee engagement in HSSE initiatives, committees, and audits
- Assist the HSSE Manager in developing, implementing, and maintaining HSSE standard operating procedures and policies
- Work with the HSSE Manager and departments to develop and execute the HSSE strategic plan (roadmap)
- Maintain inventories of PPE and first aid supplies to ensure adequate supply and controlled distribution
- Participate in the design, purchase, installation, and commissioning of new or modified equipment to ensure adequate HSSE measures are in place, including completion of risk assessments (JSA) and safe work instructions (SWI)
- Utilize Synergi to co-manage projects with the HSSE Manager and departments, ensuring action steps and timelines are identified and managed appropriately
- Support supervisors with identification, submission, and tracking of corrective actions using Nexans hazard assessment tools (facility inspections, SUSA’s, Take 5’s, Synergi cases, SAP work orders, and JSA’s)
- Encourage and support employee involvement in HSSE activities, including leading safety meetings and participating in committees and audits
- Coordinate facility and equipment inspections to identify HSSE hazards and ensure regulatory compliance
- Facilitate annual departmental SDS review and ensure MSDS Online reflects chemicals used in the plant; review chemical approval requests
- Assist in development, maintenance, and retention of training course outlines, materials, and records
- Conduct or coordinate employee training related to safety laws, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment
- Coordinate and oversee qualification programs for safe operation and inspection of equipment (forklifts, cranes, fall protection, etc.)
- Support the Safety Team’s mission, charter, goals, and operations
- Maintain bulletin boards with current and relevant HSSE information
- Conduct or direct testing of air quality, noise, temperature, or radiation levels to verify compliance
- Assist with injury case management and coordinate with workers’ compensation agencies and medical professionals
