POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Project Coordinator III at LJA Environmental, an environmental project professional conducts site investigations and collects, analyzes, and interprets biological, chemical, geological, and geographic data to develop environmental reports and work plans. They collaborate with scientists, engineers, regulators, contractors, and field teams to design projects, maintain regulatory compliance, supervise fieldwork, and ensure quality standards are met. Additionally, they manage budgets, prepare financial and internal reports, oversee contractor negotiations, and coordinate with regulatory authorities to ensure projects are completed efficiently and in accordance with environmental guidelines.

TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE
  • Lead field team(s) to complete a variety of field tasks including Waters of the United States delineation, threatened and endangered species studies, habitat assessments, etc.
  • Carry out site investigations, collecting, processing, and evaluating the off‑site and on‑site data, processing, and interpreting biological, physical, chemical, geographical, and geological data for preparing environmental reports and work plans accordingly
  • Coordinate with external scientists, engineers, and other regulators for planning the project, providing technical assistance to environmental engineers and program managers for project designing, and maintaining the project standards as per the guidelines by regulatory authorities
  • Prepare internal reports for staff members of the organization and analyze the environmental progress report in accordance with other organizational operations
  • Co‑ordinate with suppliers, fieldwork coordinators, subcontractors, and other field staff, supervising the fieldwork for accomplishing the project work for the organization
  • Manage other procedures of environmental project handling, prepare budget and financial reports as per the organizational guidelines, and keep track of finance and budget while preparing tenders for contractors
  • Manage the contract discussions with third‑party contractors, local planning authorities, and other project‑specific personnel for carrying out the project responsibilities efficiently
  • Coordinate with environmental regulatory authorities for obtaining the upgraded environmental compliance guidelines and work accordingly for accomplishing the project responsibilities
  • Excellent writing, communication, and client engagement skills
REQUIRED EDUCATION / LICENSE / CERTIFICATIONS
  • Minimum Bachelor of Science, Master’s preferred, in one of the following or related fields:
    Marine Biology, Rangeland Ecology, Ecology, Soil Science, Geography
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
