OverviewEngineering role focused on designing and installing wire harnesses for Commercial Aircraft, with a primary focus on 787 seats and interiors. The position is 100% onsite in North Charleston, SC.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain electrical product detail, assembly, and installation designs (e.g., cable routing and geometry, brackets) for advanced Commercial Aircraft.
- Define physical routing layout of wires, including supports, brackets, separation, parts selection, and environmental impacts, ensuring Safety and Quality are priorities.
- Develop and analyze engineering design dispositions on discrepancies such as rejection tags, production action requests, and shop revision requests.
- Collaborate closely with factory floor partners to ensure designs can be built efficiently and safely.
- Identify and implement improvements to documented processes, specifications, and procedures that support safe and quality design and manufacture of electrical commodities.
- Develop basic statements of work and participate in technical reviews of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection.
- Analyze functional and physical requirements to assure integrated designs and system architecture.
- Support critical analysis and design reviews.
- Work with and under general supervision of a lead engineer and mentor to enhance technical learning and career growth.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Aeronautical) or related fields such as Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry.
- 5+ years of experience with wire harness, electrical, and/or mechanical design.
- Experience with Aviation/Aerospace interiors.
- 3+ years of experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools.
- Experience working in a cross-functional team environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of CATIA V5.
The position requires 100% on‑site work in North Charleston, SC.
Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive base pay, variable compensation, and a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance, and paid and unpaid time away from work. Base pay range: $112,200 – $151,800, based on experience and qualifications.
