COMPA Industries is searching for qualified candidates for a Principal Technical Advisor – SRPPF NMC&A Advisor position supporting SRNS in Aiken, SC.

Pay: $120–$130/hr

Candidates must have 20+ years of experience in Nuclear Material Control and Accountability at a DOE/NNSA site
.

This role requires a senior-level technical advisor and subject matter expert with deep experience in Nuclear Material Control and Accountability, DOE Order requirements, nuclear facility operations, technical problem resolution, strategic planning, programmatic improvement, stakeholder coordination, and mentoring of technical personnel.

Candidates must have the ability to provide expert guidance on complex technical, operational, regulatory, and programmatic issues impacting facility design, schedule, readiness, and long-term mission execution.

About the Role

The Principal Technical Advisor – SRPPF NMC&A Advisor will provide expert technical leadership in support of Nuclear Material Control and Accountability activities at the Savannah River Site. The selected candidate will ensure NMC&A requirements from current DOE Orders are incorporated into facility design and schedule activities and will serve as an expert resource on NMC&A processes.

This position will support complex technical issue resolution, strategic planning, programmatic improvement initiatives, training development, mentoring, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders. The selected candidate will work independently with limited direction while drawing on technical resources, management support, and multidisciplinary teams to resolve complex organizational and programmatic challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as an expert on Nuclear Material Control and Accountability processes at Savannah River Site.
  • Ensure NMC&A requirements from current DOE Orders are incorporated into facility design and schedule activities.
  • Provide guidance to new NMC&A employees and support training development and mentorship of the next generation of technical staff.
  • Provide expert technical guidance and leadership on complex programmatic, operational, and technical issues.
  • Establish cost-effective technical solutions for issues generated by frequently changing requirements.
  • Define and conduct technical investigations, as appropriate.
  • Develop leading-edge methods and technologies to mitigate programmatic and operational issues or deficiencies.
  • Assess atypical and unusually complex issues impacting future organizational roles, site policies, major process reengineering, strategic planning, organizational development, and program operations.
  • Provide expert leadership to multidisciplinary teams engaged in highly visible, business-sensitive, project-type work involving complex technical, budget, schedule, or regulatory compliance issues.
  • Define the scope of new project-type work and changing technical program requirements.
  • Work independently to ensure adherence to technical policies and guidelines.
  • Consult with management and staff on corrective action plans.
  • Represent assigned technical issues to internal and external customers.
  • Manage related correspondence with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Interact with DOE-SR, DOE-HQ, and other external organizations on substantive matters involving assigned technical issues.
  • Interact with oversight panels and boards, as appropriate, in areas of technical expertise.
  • Propose strategic business goals and milestones involving assigned technical issues.
  • Participate in strategic initiatives and develop strategic plans for major new program areas and technical issue resolution.
  • Remain current on job-related emerging technologies, requirements, theories, principles, and concepts.
  • Manage special projects involving multiple divisions, departments, or organizations.
  • Provide input and participate in programmatic improvement initiatives in support of mission goals.
  • Provide technical and operational input on authorization basis documents, technical reports, program-level procedures, training materials, and support organization deliverables.
  • Maintain a strong safety-first culture and stop work when unsafe conditions are identified.
