Responsibilities
  • Develop best practices to improve production capacity, quality and reliability.
  • Drive the implementation of continuous improvement processes to create a Lean Manufacturing environment.
  • Investigate problems, analyze root causes and derive resolutions using 8D Problem Solving Process to ensure sustainable quality products.
  • Support operational strategies to achieve production and financial objectives.
  • Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods, testing finished product and process capabilities, establishing standards, and confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Provide input for budget preparation and monitor expenses and profitability.
  • Write specification books; request and evaluate supplier quotations.
  • Support the design, documentation, and implementation of medium‑scale manufacturing processes; check feasibility of product changes.
  • Perform a variety of moderately complex tasks relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Evaluate current production activities and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Periodically ensure that highly technical equipment meets required specifications and high quality standards.
  • Propose cost reduction initiatives while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Contribute to product and process quality design testing methods.
  • Develop planning standards, methods, and procedures.
  • Stay current with product specifications, engineering technology and production processes.
  • Assist management in manpower distribution to achieve efficiency goals.
  • Provide guidance to team members to accomplish production goals.
  • Be heavily involved in medium‑scale projects from beginning to end.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled team meetings.
  • Lead the Cell Tech team regarding structure, responsibilities, KPIs, and training; manage headcount planning and HPV target activities.
  • Drive shop KPIs and create weekly and monthly reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Handle budget responsibilities to create reports for actual spending versus budget in running costs and internal projects.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or other relevant degree required (or 6 years of relevant experience may substitute for degree).
  • 3‑5 years of relevant experience required, strongly preferred in automotive (e.g., Body in White, Paint and Assembly).
  • PLC experience.
  • Hands‑on experience in offline simulations.
  • 3D‑CAD experience (Inventor, Solid Works, Catia, Siemens NX, etc.).
  • Line Balancing, time studies, line layout planning.
  • Knowledge of new Lean concepts, waste reduction and parts presentations.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods/procedures and process technology.
  • Ability to perform essential functions of the job.
  • Ability to present technical information is a plus.
  • Proven written and verbal communication at all levels within the organization with good negotiation skills.
  • Ability to anticipate needs and deliver timely, relevant solutions and actions.
  • Knowledge of joining technologies (Mig/Mag, spot, and laser welding, and gluing) is a plus.
  • Use of value stream mapping to identify opportunities for waste reduction is a plus.
