Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Technical Director to lead product, materials, and formulation development for our Electrical Safety Products business. This role provides technical leadership for a small global team supporting the development of new products, enhancement of existing products, and optimization of materials and manufacturing processes across our electrical safety portfolio.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in polymers, elastomers, formulation science, and materials characterization, along with a practical understanding of how materials interact with manufacturing processes to deliver safe, reliable, and high‑performing products. This individual will play a key role in translating customer and market requirements into commercially successful solutions while leading and developing a global technical team. Job Responsibilities
  • Partner with Commercial and Product Management teams to establish and execute the technical roadmap for the Electrical Safety Products business, aligning technology priorities with customer needs, market opportunities, and business objectives.
  • Serve as the technical expert in polymers, elastomers, formulation development, and material performance for electrical safety applications.
  • Partner with customers, suppliers, operations, quality, and commercial teams to solve technical challenges and identify opportunities for product improvement and growth.
  • Lead the development and enhancement of products utilizing natural rubber, EPDM, synthetic elastomers, polymers, solvents, and related materials.
  • Apply expertise in rheology, viscosity, solids content, material interactions, and characterization techniques to optimize product performance and manufacturability.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to improve material and process performance across dipping, coating, and curing operations while supporting root‑cause analysis, scale‑up activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a small global team of technical professionals located in the United States and India.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, technical excellence, accountability, and continuous learning within a lean, highly specialized organization.
  • Prioritize resources and projects to ensure successful execution of product development and business objectives.
Basic Qualifications and Competencies
  • Advanced degree in Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Rubber Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience in product development, formulation development, materials engineering, or related technical leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated expertise in elastomers, polymers, rheology, materials characterization, and manufacturing processes involving rubber or polymer-based products.
  • Proven experience leading technical teams and cross‑functional product development initiatives.
  • Strong problem‑solving, communication, project leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with electrical insulating materials, rubber gloves, specialty coatings, industrial rubber products, wire and cable, or related polymer‑based applications.
  • Experience supporting products manufactured through dipping, coating, curing, or similar elastomer processing technologies.

Demonstrated success of translating customer requirements into commercially viable product solutions.
