We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced
** Chief Engineer at The Charleston Place
** to oversee the maintenance and operation of our hotel's facilities and equipment. The ideal candidate will ensure the safety, functionality, and efficiency of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and manage a team of maintenance technicians. The Chief Engineer will report to the Director of Engineering.  
** Duties/Responsibilities:
*** Plan, coordinate, and oversee the maintenance and repair of all hotel facilities, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas.
* Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure the ongoing safety and functionality of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
* Partner with the Director of Engineering to manage the budget for the engineering department, including forecasting and cost control measures.
* Hire, train, and supervise a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
* Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance and repair work.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards, including OSHA and local building codes.
* Respond promptly to guest requests and complaints related to maintenance issues, ensuring their satisfaction and comfort.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inventory, and equipment manuals.
* Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in engineering and maintenance management.  
** Required Skills/Abilities:
*** High school diploma or equivalent.
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical school degree preferred or equivalent experience.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in hotel engineering or a similar role.
* Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, as well as building automation systems.
* Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage a team effectively.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and maintenance management software.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Must be able to work holidays and weekends.
