Kelly Engineering is seeking a Plant Maintenance & Reliability Engineer to join one of our leading clients in the Charleston Metro (Georgetown, SC Plant) focused on Chemical / Pharma / Biotech manufacturing for consumer based products.

Position Overview

This role focused on maintenance, reliability, and technical services in a manufacturing/chemical plant environment (located in Georgetown, South Carolina
). This person oversees the Technical Services Department to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production operations. It is a strategic, hands‑on position in a family‑operated company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and optimize preventive, predictive, and precision maintenance programs.
  • Oversee reliability initiatives
    , maintenance execution, and asset integrity programs.
  • Track and report on maintenance KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
  • Conduct root cause analyses for recurring equipment issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) performance, spare parts, planning, and scheduling.
  • Partner with Production, Engineering, Procurement, and Safety teams to maximize equipment uptime.
  • Support capital projects, technical reviews, and compliance with standards (OSHA, API, ASME, ISO, etc.).
  • Facilitate process hazard analyses (e.g., HAZOP, What-If) and sustainability/energy optimization initiatives.
  • Lead and mentor a team including a Reliability Engineer, Lead Millwright, Lead E&I Technician, and Maintenance Planner.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment (chemical manufacturing preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferred; significant relevant experience can substitute).
  • Strong knowledge of reliability systems, industrial equipment, maintenance best practices, and asset lifecycle management.
  • Experience with CMMS systems and interpreting technical/regulatory documents.
  • Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a plant setting (PPE, stairs, occasional lifting, etc.).
