Equipment PlannerYour responsibilities:
- Supports the development of specifications for equipment changes. Coordinate the review of bids and assist in project management until final buyoff.
- Support the implementation of equipment and tooling projects.
- Organize and participate in equipment buy-offs, coordinate meetings with required personnel, review punch lists, perform buy-offs, and coordinate procedures from each milestone.
- Maintain a comprehensive overview of all assigned equipment, coordinate with vendors throughout the launch process, and ensure buyoff procedures and launch readiness.
- Coordinate installation processes of equipment. Provide root-cause analysis and develop short- and long-term countermeasures, sketches, and design proposals for new tooling/equipment or modifications as input for subsequent fabrication.
- Assist in organizing tools/equipment and fixtures with external and internal service providers (maintenance, process engineering, tool shops, etc.).
- Coordinate and conduct buy-offs at vendors.
- Provide implementation timing, budget, and equipment status information.
- Prepare and participate in product review trials as necessary. Support production on the shop floor to verify equipment readiness and monitor build concerns during Null Series, Production Trials, Launch, and Change implementation.
- Support off-shift trials when launching new equipment.
- Review and oversee weekend and unscheduled work, ensuring safety, function, and reliability of workers or teams introduced to new equipment or assist devices.
- Create and maintain a tooling and equipment overview and database.
- Prepare information for equipment/tooling and present status in meetings.
- Create and update scorecards and status reports.
- Organize internal and external meetings to clarify problem definitions and report findings.
- Organize and execute machine and process capability measurements and tests.
- Follow and ensure compliance with safety and security rules, policies, and laws affecting the role.
- Describe lessons learned.
- Act as a technical trainer for targeted audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Civil Engineering.
- Minimum of three years of relevant professional experience in an engineering-oriented manufacturing environment with emphasis on equipment and tooling projects, project management, and hands-on capabilities.
- Machine shop experience and proficiency.
- Advanced English proficiency;
German language preferred. - Clear verbal and written communication of technical information.
- Drafting skills and out-of-the-box thinking.
- Willingness to travel internationally and domestically.
- Weekend and holiday on-site work as needed.
- Flexibility to support management needs and demands.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Understanding of equipment in a manufacturing environment and how machines integrate into a manufacturing system.
- Project management skills including cost/budget, timeline, and risk management.
- Problem solving and understanding of automation equipment (robots, conveyors, etc.).
- Understanding of automotive HV systems.
- Knowledge of applications such as Engineering Client, DIALOG, RPlan, SAP, ECM, SWAN, CAD drafting skills.
- Project coordination and initiative.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical information visually and in writing.
- Experience in equipment and tooling-related issues and in leading problem-solving groups.
