Your Opportunity

Stantec’s growing transportation practice is looking for a Roadway Design Engineer. This role may sit in either Charleston, SC or Columbia, SC. Join our full-service team that is successfully delivering quality plans for SCDOT, local governments, and private developers. Grow your career and expand your knowledge with Stantec! Get the chance to work on a variety of transportation improvement projects with Stantec’s structural engineers, traffic engineers, roadway engineers, transportation planners and environmental scientists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development of design plans for transportation projects.
  • Support and coordinate work with multiple engineering disciplines, as well as drafting/CADD work for the project.
  • Perform engineering calculations, interpret engineering drawings and specifications, and assist with proposal preparation.
  • Work with a team of designers to successfully deliver projects.
  • Learn from senior project engineers or project managers.
Capabilities and Credentials
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with a team.
  • Proficiency with Bentley’s Micro Station and Open Roads Designer (ORD) software.
  • Good communication skills, multi-tasking, attentiveness to detail.
  • Open to learning new skills and interface with multiple project managers.
  • EIT or EI certificate is preferred.
Education and Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of transportation infrastructure experience with a Bachelor of Science or a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience with conventional types of plans, investigations, surveys, structures, or equipment.
Position Details

Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require out-of-office meetings or travel.

Pay Transparency

In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. Certain roles are bonus eligible. Part‑time roles are pro‑rated for working hours.
