A Material Review Board Engineer position is available at Belcan Engineering Group in Charleston, SC. This full‑time direct role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering. Primary responsibilities include reviewing fuselage, nacelle, and pylon discrepancies, determining acceptability or repairability, training and mentoring other engineers, and facilitating timely MRB certification.
Job Duties- Formulate, analyze, substantiate, and document dispositions for production non‑conformances within the boundaries of Federal Aviation Regulations and OEM delegated requirements.
- Act as liaison with other teams and interact with OEM customers.
- Maintain strong communication with internal project team and customer.
- Provide functional guidance to less experienced staff and act in a technical leadership capacity.
- Help solve problems that would affect cost, schedule, and performance.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Aeronautical, Astronautical, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering.
- At least 2 years of experience performing engineering tasks.
- Understanding of structural load paths and failure modes.
- Static and fatigue analysis experience.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Familiarity with composite repair and rework methodologies (preferred).
- Understanding of aircraft structures analysis, manufacturing processes, and materials.
- Previously held MRB delegated authority from an aerospace company.
- Specific experience with Boeing airframes.
- Interpersonal skills and willingness to work in a team environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Mentoring experience.
- Five or more years of experience substantiating MRB discrepancies to substantiate nonconforming conditions.
- Salary range: $110,000 to $180,000, based on education, experience, location, and discipline.
- Sign‑on bonuses up to $20,000 may be considered for qualified candidates.
