The Engineering Project Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring customer orders move efficiently through engineering, procurement, and manufacturing. This position translates sales orders into actionable engineering tasks, tracks deliverables, maintains full order visibility, and provides timely, accurate updates to internal teams and customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Customer Order Processing & Validation- Review and organize sales order documents for engineering reference.
- Resolve missing or unclear order information with Sales team.
- Assign order numbers, engineering tasks, and associated timelines.
- Maintain real‑time visibility of order status to support accurate reporting.
- Identify and elevate delays to ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain all order‑related documents, submittals, and approvals.
- Coordinate engineering activities tied to customer orders.
- Track drawing releases, BOM updates, ECNs/CCFs, and technical clarifications.
- Verify engineering outputs meet customer requirements and internal standards.
- Assist in preparing order status summaries for customers.
- Coordinate engineering responses to customer questions, clarifications, and change requests.
- Log and track customer‑initiated changes (scope, configuration, specifications).
- Coordinate impact assessments with engineering, procurement, and scheduling.
- Ensure all changes are documented, approved, and reflected in order records.
- Maintain dashboards, trackers, and engineering queues.
- Support ERP/MRP updates related to engineering deliverables.
- Organize order folders, spreadsheets, SharePoint sites, and documentation repositories.
- Assist with order closeout and archiving engineering deliverables.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in order management, project coordination, or manufacturing operations.
- Strong understanding of engineering documentation, BOMs, drawings, and change processes.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, Net Suite, Epicor, etc.).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Teams, Outlook, and order‑tracking tools.
- Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to manage high order volume with accuracy and urgency.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or engineering design workflows.
- Experience with engineering change management (ECN/ECO/CCF).
- Experience working with Document Control or EDMS systems.
