Senior Environmental Engineer - Water Group
Job DescriptionThis position is for a Senior Environmental Engineer based in South Carolina to assist in the delivery of water treatment facilities of moderate to high complexity throughout the Southeast United States.
Responsibilities- Leads teams to design and deliver water treatment facilities and related water infrastructure, including process modeling and signing and sealing construction drawings as the engineer of record.
- Possesses alternative delivery experience such as progressive design‑build, which is a plus.
- Reviews draft designs and reports for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and signs off on completed designs.
- Ensures firm policies and practices are followed on all designs, performs site reviews and studies as needed, updates design requirements, and performs water quality analyses and modeling.
- Contributes to the firm’s Technical Knowledge Management by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc., and submits technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals.
- Collaborates with sales staff to create proposals in response to current and potential client requests for proposal (RFPs) and reviews draft proposals for adherence to regulations and best practices.
- Proactively meets with current and potential future clients to review design needs, attends conferences and symposia to improve visibility of the firm’s products and services, and may act as a point of contact for external client and industry contacts.
- Collaborates with clients and government officials to clarify technical questions, provides updates to project management as necessary, and performs other duties as required.
- Provides technical guidance and training to more junior staff, mentors them, and develops them for future growth within the discipline and firm.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
- Professional engineering (PE) license.
- 10 years of related experience.
- Domestic and/or international travel may be required; frequency of travel is contingent on duties and project demands.
- Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
