Industrial Design Coordinator/EIT - South Carolina, Charleston

HDR's Industrial Market Sector is expanding in South Carolina. We support natural gas pipeline design, permitting, and utility relocation across the Carolinas. We seek a mechanical or civil coordinator interested in obtaining an Engineering-in-Training (EIT) to support utility relocation and gas pipeline design.

• Conduct analyses to develop design options or recommendations, assist in preparing cost estimates and specifications.
• Assist the Project Manager or Engineer with project studies, project designs, contract documentation preparation, and graphic presentation.
• Perform routine engineering assignments using standard techniques and procedures.
• Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables.
• Perform administrative duties associated with project management for civil/mechanical projects.
• Work independently on small projects or assist senior engineers on larger projects.
• Travel to project sites and client meetings, including potential overnight stays.
• Perform other duties as needed.

• Candidate not yet holding an EIT will be titled “Coordinator” and be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
• Experience with oil and gas pipeline and/or utility relocation.
• Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
• Local candidate with ability to travel intermittently for client or project meetings, including overnight stays.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Trane TRACE or similar software, and equipment selection software).
• Commitment to actively participate in an employee-owned culture.
