Kelly Engineering partnered with a rapidly growing medical device company in the Charleston, SC area to offer an exciting direct hire opportunity for an experienced New Product Development (NPD) Manager. This is a fantastic chance to join a forward-thinking organization and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the company.
The NPD Manager leads cross-functional teams in the design, development, and launch of new products. This role is responsible for managing the complete product development lifecycle from concept through feasibility, testing, and production, ensuring all quality, regulatory, timeline, and cost objectives are met.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead product design and specification creation for both mechanical and electrical components, assemblies, and packaging, focusing on innovative and manufacturable solutions
- Oversee feasibility builds, testing protocols, and documentation to ensure products meet design intent, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
- Develop, monitor, and maintain comprehensive project plans to meet milestones, deadlines, budgets, and compliance with relevant medical device quality standards
- Facilitate detailed concept drawings and specification documentation; ensure all technical documentation is clear, accurate, and compliant with internal standards
- Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing to resolve technical questions, identify quality issues, and drive corrective actions
- Support proposal preparation, cost estimation for new programs, and interface with clients for technical resolution and customer satisfaction
- Ensure effective employee training, performance evaluation, and professional development related to NPD activities
- Experience in NPD leadership within the Medical Device industry
- Strong decision-making, leadership, and team management skills, able to lead teams and discussions with both internal stakeholders and customers
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with systematic approaches to resolving engineering challenges
