Job Description Summary
Operates telecommunications or radio equipment to provide operator or dispatch services. This class consists of entry- and journey-level positions which may involve lead worker functions. Serves as a PBX or Centrex attendant. Trains PBX or Centrex attendants. Serves as shift supervisor; prepares work schedules for other attendants. Operates radio or teletype equipment. Receives and transmits routine and emergency radio, telephone and teletype traffic.
Dispatches law enforcement, public safety or other personnel and equipment in response to service requirements.
