Underwriter, Finance & Banking

Growing specialty finance firm seeking an Underwriter to evaluate small business lending opportunities. This role is responsible for analyzing financial statements, assessing credit quality and cash flow, identifying risk factors, and making sound underwriting decisions within established credit guidelines. You'll work closely with internal teams to improve credit processes and support a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze borrower and guarantor financials, including trend and ratio analysis.
• Assess credit risk and cash flow adequacy.
• Identify red flags and inconsistencies during the underwriting process.
• Make credit decisions with a high degree of accuracy and judgment.
• Partner with team members on credit policy and process improvements.
• Communicate effectively with borrowers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
• 1+ years of experience in financial services, underwriting, loan processing, or credit analysis.
• Experience with asset-based lending or factoring is a plus.
• Strong financial analysis and Excel skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage high-volume workflows.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
