The Outpatient Program Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring patients receive meaningful creative arts therapy services while strengthening community partnerships, supporting grantor relations, and positioning Arts in Healing as a leader in integrating the arts into healthcare.

Job Description
Coordinates program design, implementation and daily administrative activities. Coordinates service delivery processes for programs administered by an agency. Conducts special projects at management's request; prepares and presents reports. Provides direction and guidance to staff concerning program issues. Attends legislative, public and advocacy group hearings; presents information for discussion and/or decision-making purposes; responds to requests for information. Reviews program objectives to determine compatibility with agency's mission;
assesses programs and implements policy, procedure or rule changes. Participates in the management of the agency; attends agency planning sessions, recommends allocation of resources, provides feedback to employees and agency head and encourages employee growth and development.
- Clinical Practice (40%) – Provide assessments and integrate appropriate art therapy interventions for assigned patient populations, addressing cognitive, physical, functional, and expressive needs. Maintain accurate records and progress reports while meeting Arts in Healing and facility-wide quality assurance/performance improvement standards.
- Program Administration (40%) – Lead program growth initiatives in alignment with the Arts in Healing mission and vision. Act as liaison between grantors, partners, and organizational leaders. Organize and lead community, team, and partner meetings to support collaboration and communication.
- Research & Grants (10%) – Contribute to the design, administration, and monitoring of clinical objectives, research studies, and grant-related activities. Prepare reports and support data collection to demonstrate program impact.
- Team Leadership (5%) – Provide direction, guidance, and engagement to the outpatient creative arts therapy team, encouraging professional growth and development.
- Professional Development (5%) – Stay current with research and trends in creative arts therapies by attending conferences, training, and collaborative learning opportunities to enhance personal and programmatic growth.
- Graduated from an accredited art therapy, music therapy, dance/movement therapy, or drama therapy required.
- Active registration (ATR, MT-BC, R-DMT, RDT) with modality-specific national certification board preferred.
- Board-certification preferred.
- Charleston Division Position, working in Greenville, SC or Columbia, SC
- Experience in school-based settings a plus.
- Ability to travel to community placements in region (Greenville or Columbia) as well as Charleston for administrative activities (2-3 x per year).
- Grant-funded position – currently supported for one year, with the possibility of continuation if the grant is renewed.
