Schedule:

: 12 (twelve) hour night shift with alternating weekend shifts. Weekends, Weekdays and Holidays required.

Position/Unit

Description:

The RN will provide care in an acute care medical/surgical unit. The role encompasses services related to spinal cord injuries, telemetry, orthopedics, medicine, oncology, neurology, acute rehabilitation, general surgery, and post‑operative care.

• Patient assessments
• Medication administration
• IV therapy
• Interdisciplinary team coordination
• Telemetry monitoring
• Admissions, discharges, and internal and external transfers
• Delegating to assistive personnel
• Electronic medical record documentation
• Patient transport
• Emergency response procedures
• Competency in the areas of: NGT insertion, chest tubes, trach care, dressing changes, monitoring patient condition, reporting and treating applicable findings, IV insertions, thoracentesis, paracentesis, lumbar puncture, twelve lead EKG, Foley catheter insertion and discontinuation, doppler pressure, orthostatic blood pressure, wound therapy (wound vac and dressing changes), cardiopulmonary resuscitation, blood transfusion, blood draw, drug administration (BCMA), bladder irrigation

• BLS certification accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Unrestricted license to practice nursing in one of the States, Territories, or Commonwealths of the United States or the District of Columbia
• Experience:
  
  All contract personnel will have a minimum of two-year direct patient care experience within the last three years in the field. All Med/Surg Registered Nurses shall have at least two (2) years of experience in an acute care, medical/surgical setting exclusive of agency assignments and must have worked within the last six (6) months in the above settings.
• Education:
  
  ASN accepted; BSN preferred. Education must have been completed at a school accredited by the ACEN or CCNE.
