Position Type: Full Time (36 hours)
Work Schedule: 7p–7a
What You'll DoThis position will work independently a majority of the time, requiring strong clinical judgment, technical competence, and the ability to prioritize in a dynamic emergency setting.
Testing & Quality ControlPerform waived, moderately complex, and highly complex testing
Conduct equipment maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting
Perform and evaluate quality control to ensure accuracy
Investigate and resolve problems prior to reporting results
Maintain competency and proficiency standards
Maintain required documentation for laboratory procedures
Process requisitions and distribute reports
Ensure regulatory readiness and compliance
Participate in ongoing education and professional development
Assist with training students and new team members
Provide consultation and support to clinical staff
Practice efficient use of supplies and inventory management
Participate in process improvement initiatives
Follow all safety policies and PPE requirements
Maintain a safe and compliant laboratory environment
Collaborate effectively with physicians and clinical teams
Communicate clearly and professionally
Participate in staff meetings and department initiatives
Bachelor’s degree required in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical, or biological science
Completion of a NAACLS-accredited MT/MLS program preferred
Pre-1987 two-year certification recognized as MT
One year of laboratory scientist experience preferred (Clinical internships of 12 months meet this requirement)
Strong knowledge of laboratory equipment and instrumentation
Ability to perform complex analytical testing
Effective troubleshooting and quality assurance skills
Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
Ability to remain calm in emergency situations
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to follow written protocols and regulatory standards
