Novant Health Urgent Care (NHUC) provides non-medical management and administrative services to over 40 Novant Health Urgent Care Centers and 24 Progressive Physical Therapy facilities located throughout South Carolina.
What Are We Looking For?NHUC is currently accepting applications for the Corporate Health and Wellness Fellow. This fellowship is a great opportunity for a new graduate to gain hands‑on experience in the public health field.
The Corporate Health and Wellness (CHW) team supports the community by offering coordinated events that provide preventative and occupational health services including but not limited to: biometric screenings, flu shots, and drug screens. The Corporate Health & Wellness Fellow gains valuable hands‑on experience and knowledge by playing a key role in implementing successful on‑site community outreach wellness events throughout the state of South Carolina.
The incumbent works closely with the CHW Regional Supervisor to ensure that quality services are provided at every corporate business client event. The Program Fellow will also assist the CHW Regional Supervisor with client communications and contribute to the achievement of departmental goals and customer/client wellness initiatives.
- Gains hands‑on experience and knowledge by actively participating in all administrative and operational functions associated with on‑site CHW events while ensuring smooth and efficient operations and logistics.
- Travels throughout South Carolina to execute on‑site CHW events. Serves as an event leader and works with other team members to plan and prepare for on‑site services. This includes but is not limited to:
- Assisting with scheduling on‑site events
- Communicates and collaborates with client’s point of contact prior to on‑site event to ensure logistics and initiative parameters are agreed upon and executed
- Uses appointment scheduling software to set up event schedules and run participation reports
- Pre‑fills and organizes paperwork
- Packs supplies needed for various wellness events
- Completes data entry from biometric wellness events and runs aggregate reports for clients/employers.
- Participates in the execution of CHW goals and objectives.
- Maintains patient and client communications, including incoming phone calls and emails in the CHW inbox.
- Ensures events are appropriately billed according to their contract and that all information is entered correctly into billing and/or EMR systems.
- Works closely with the billing department to ensure correct billing for on‑site events. Assists in sending invoices to clients as needed.
- Assists with financial analysis of onsite services.
- Bachelor's degree in public health, health administration, health sciences, or other related field
- Valid driver’s license
- Excellent communication skills and demonstrated organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to assess processes and provide recommendations for improvements
- Ability to understand and interpret complex instructions
- Ability to maintain strict level of confidentiality
- Knowledge of computers such as word processing and spreadsheet applications
