Charleston Veterinary Referral Center is seeking a full-time Human Resources Manager to join our hospital in support of our veterinary teams.

Compensation: Up to $90,000 base salary (based on experience and qualifications)

As an HR Manager in our hospital, you’ll play a key role shaping employee experience, supporting leaders, and ensuring compliance and consistency across our hospital teams.
About the RoleReporting to and partnering closely with the Field People Business Partner, the HR Manager serves as the front-line HR partner for CVRC. You will support the full employee lifecycle—from onboarding through offboarding—while driving engagement, performance management, compliance, and positive employee relations across teams.
Key Responsibilities- HR Partnership & Employee Support: Serve as primary HR resource for employees and leaders; provide guidance and promote an inclusive culture
- Employee Relations: Investigate and resolve complex workplace concerns; document findings and partner with HRBPs and legal as needed
- Leadership
Coaching:
Advise managers on performance issues, documentation, misconduct, and policy adherence - Performance Management: Support review cycles and provide input on merit, promotions, and compensation actions
- Onboarding & Offboarding: Oversee employee lifecycle processes; facilitate orientations and exit interviews; enhance new-hire experience
- HR Program Implementation: Partner with HR Centers of Excellence to roll out initiatives and communicate changes effectively
- Compliance & Policy: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices
- Leave & Accommodation Management: Administer leave programs and support ADA interactive processes
- Recruiting Support: Assist leaders with screening, interview coordination, and offer preparation
- HR Operations: Manage background checks, onboarding paperwork, I-9 verification, and HRIS processes
- People Analytics: Leverage HR data to inform engagement and retention strategies
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance employee experience across hospitals

- Bachelor’s degree or ≥3years HR management experience
- Experience with HRIS systems (Ceridian a plus) and MS Office
- Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills with neutral, professional judgment
- Highly organized with ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and supporting diverse teams
