We’re in search of a highly motivated, people-friendly, organized human resources advisor to join our team. This person must be located in Charleston, SC, and have at least 5 years of experience as a Senior HR Advisor, Specialist, or Coordinator with their SHRM certification. You will oversee all aspects of employee relations, including recruiting, onboarding, payroll, benefits, coaching, and training, play a key role in strategic planning and business administration, and ensure we are in compliance with the most recent employment laws.
Ideal candidates are natural leaders, decision-makers, and team players.
- Assist clients with the overall administration of all human resources, including payroll processing, recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, performance management, unemployment, and workers' comp.
- Work with the client to set up the HRIS system, ensuring all required paperwork is collected, and state and federal requirements are met.
- Maintain HR compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, and recommend best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Provide guidance and advice to clients regarding policy interpretation, application, and documentation. Provide information to employees on benefits and payroll.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Assist clients in coordinating organizational development and leadership training.
- Assist with the coordination of activities related to increasing employee engagement.
- Actively support the client’s core values and work to enhance the company culture.
- Excellent leaders and communicators with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- SHRM certification or certification from a similar institute.
- 3-5 years of experience as an HR manager, upper-level HR generalist or in a senior position in HR management.
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, HR management, or similar major.
- Must live in Charleston, SC.
Compensation: $65,000 per year
