Summary

The MIL Corporation seeks a Quality Assurance Analyst (Software Applications Analysis, Sr. Analyst) to support a Federal Government client in Charleston, SC. This role is responsible for independently analyzing complex software applications, designing and executing manual and automated test solutions, and validating system functionality against defined business and technical requirements.

The Senior Analyst will serve as a key quality partner across the system development lifecycle, providing testing leadership, risk identification, and clear communication to ensure stable, reliable, and timely software releases.

This position requires a fully on-site schedule. Schedule is subject to change based on company and contract requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze complex business and system requirements to identify testable conditions, risks, and edge cases; develop and document alternative testing approaches as needed.

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated and manual test plans, test cases, and test scripts aligned with industry standards and SDLC best practices.

  • Execute automated and manual test suites, document results, and clearly communicate defects, trends, and quality risks to development teams and stakeholders.

  • Perform impact and "what-if" analysis to assess how system changes affect existing functionality, integrations, and downstream processes.

  • Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and product stakeholders to ensure business requirements are fully validated and accurately implemented.

  • Review test plans and coverage with clients and stakeholders to confirm alignment with business processes, functional expectations, and acceptance criteria.

  • Translate business and regulatory requirements into effective test scenarios that validate both functional and non-functional system behavior.

  • Serve as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring shared understanding of quality objectives, testing outcomes, and release readiness.

  • Provide subject matter expertise on system functionality, testing methodologies, and automation frameworks to support continuous improvement of QA practices.

  • Support project execution by reporting on testing status, risks, and quality metrics across key lifecycle phases and milestones.

Required Qualifications
  • 5 years of experience with the software development lifecycle (analysis/design, development, testing, implementation, support)

  • Expertise with MS Office (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Quality Assurance experience

  • Automated Testing experience

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining a professional demeanor

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with People Soft HCM

  • PMP or CAPM certification

  • Experience with Waterfall and Agile software development methodologies

Education

BA/BS or relevant experience

For this position, the projected compensation range is $85,000 - $100,000 per year. This estimate represents the typical salary range and is just one part of MIL's complete compensation package.
