SSR Network Engineer

The Government Services team provides cleared resources to federal civilian, Department of Defense (DoD), and intelligence community markets, ensuring the delivery of innovative, operationally ready, and cost‑effective IT solutions that enhance the interoperability and resiliency of mission‑critical systems. The SSR Network Engineer will work on technical engineering teams supporting multiple government programs, primarily for the Navy, requiring strong problem‑solving, teamwork, and communication skills.

• SSR Implementation:
  Deploy and manage Juniper Session Smart Routers (SSR) to optimize WAN performance, utilizing tunnel‑less architecture to improve bandwidth efficiency and security.
• Network Operations:
  Maintain and troubleshoot Junos OS across the WAN environment.
• SD‑WAN Management:
  Configure and refine session‑oriented routing policies, service‑centric networking, and security‑first WAN architectures.
• Routing Excellence:
  Administer and optimize core routing protocols, including BGP, OSPF, and static routing, to maintain path redundancy and low latency.
• Security & SRX Support:
  Manage Juniper SRX edge gateways, overseeing stateful firewall policies, IPsec VPNs, and NAT configurations.
• Network Automation:
  Familiarity with Ansible for basic configuration management or automated state‑checking of Junos devices.
• Scripting:
  Basic knowledge of Python or YAML to assist with bulk configuration updates or data parsing.
• Cloud Integration:
  Experience connecting on‑premises Juniper hardware to AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.

• BA/BS or equivalent years of combined experience and training.
• 5+ years of IT experience, with 1‑2 years of hands‑on experience working with the technologies listed above.
• DoD 8570 Certification: IAT Level II or higher (Security+ CE, CISSP, or equivalent).
• JNCIS-ENT or JNCIS-SEC preferred; specific training in Juniper SSR is highly desirable.
• Ability to maintain a minimum Secret U.S. government security clearance; TS/SCI preferred.

A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $120,000 to $190,000 annually. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs.
