Duties
* Analyzes and evaluates policies, requirements, enterprise and information systems architecture, and standards that facilitate business systems integration.
* Provides expert technical advice and guidance to the DHA Authorizing Official and Branch Chief.
* Acts as the primary Security Control Assessor, assessing the effectiveness of DHA IT systems management, operational, and technical security controls and enhancements.
* Formulates and disseminates DHA policies and guidelines based on applicable Federal laws and policies relative to Military Health information systems.
* Consults with Military Health Systems business area program and technical managers to clearly identify implementation measures and determine the contribution of IT initiatives.
* Provides a wide range of recommendations concerning the development and maintenance of information security plans to sustain uninterrupted operations of DHA's information systems.
* Identifies security requirements specific to an IT system in all phases of the System Development Life Cycle to include baseline security controls. Requirements Conditions of employment
* Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
* This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
* One year probationary/trial period may be required.
* This position requires access to classified information. Incumbent of the position will be required to complete a Standard Form (SF) 312, Classified Information Nondisclosure Agreement (NDA).
* This is a Cyberspace Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements of DoD 8140 for DoD Cyberspace Workforce Framework Primary Role of 612 (Security Control Assessor), Advanced Level, within 6 months or less of entrance on duty.
* This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE
450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
* This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing. Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes developing information technology policies, providing technical advice to senior level management, and identifying technical informational security needs of the organization . This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined: * (1) Attention to Detail
