Forge Forward is searching for an Agile Scrum Master to support the Navy's Tactical Networks Program Office (PMW 160) in Charleston, SC. US citizenship and an active Secret clearance are required. If you do not meet these qualifications, you cannot be considered.
The position requires a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in defense life-cycle (acquisition) support or program management support of C4I systems. In this role, you will lead, coach, and support cross-functional, geographically dispersed teams in executing Agile/Scrum best practices within a complex defense acquisition environment.
The Agile Scrum Master will facilitate key Scrum events, assist with backlog refinement, track engineering progress metrics, and collaborate with program leadership to ensure seamless capability delivery at the tactical edge. This role requires an individual who can uphold Scrum practices and principles while supporting continuous improvement and alignment to business standards.
The candidate must have strong oral and written communication skills and be comfortable speaking to small groups both in-person and via virtual meetings. The Agile Scrum Master will work independently while coaching team members on agile best practices and supporting technical governance across multiple Scrum teams.
Functional Responsibilities- Act as Scrum Master for geographically dispersed development team
- Host Stand-up Meetings, Sprint Planning Meetings, Retrospectives and Reviews
- Coach team members on agile best practices and uphold Scrum practices and principles
- Assist Product Owner, Lead Engineer, and Lead Systems Engineer in refining and grooming the backlog, based on the current status of work and development needs
- Assist IPT Lead and IPT Tech Lead as needed to provide reporting metrics on progress of engineering activities
- Support Technical Governance Agile Team to ensure alignment to business standards and consistent agile practices are adhered to
- Experience with Agile practices and methodologies
- Experience supporting multiple Scrum teams
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and Git Lab
- Experience with Jira Advanced Roadmaps/Plans (desired)
- Bachelor's degree in any technical, business or managerial discipline
- Required:
Scrum certification (Preferred:
Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or SAFe Scrum Master (SSM)). - Preferred:
Advanced Scrum Master Certification or Release Train Engineer (RTE) Certification
- Active U.S. SECRET Security Clearance required (U.S. Citizenship required).
