As a Charleston County Judicial Deputy Sheriff, a Limited Duty position

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $20.80 – 24.63
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $43,264.00 - $51,230.40

This position is responsible for the physical security of the designated areas of the Sheriff’s Office. Potential areas of assignment include, but are not limited to: the Law Enforcement Center, the Judicial Complex, General Sessions, Family and Probate Courts and Crisis Stabilization Unit.

- manning the screening stations
- performing Main Control Room operations

Qualifications- Citizen of the United States over 21 years of age
- High school diploma (state issued) or GED
- Ability to work rotating 12 hour shifts
- Current valid SC driver’s license
- No criminal convictions that carry a sentence of a year or more
Applicants meeting these minimum criteria must submit to, and successfully complete, all phases of the hiring process to be considered for employment. The process includes, but is not limited to the following: the Nelson-Denny Vocabulary and Reading Examination, a two-phase background investigation, a credit check, a psychological examination/evaluation, a polygraph examination, an oral interview and a pre‑employment physical examination.
