• Inspect and verify spot welded joints of entire vehicle body as defined by quality standards
• Inspect and verify stud presence, location, and torque welded to the vehicle body as defined by quality standards
• Inspect and verify MIG/MAG welds of the entire body as defined by quality standards
• Inspect and verify sealer/adhesive of the entire body as defined by quality standards
• Inspect and verify laser welds/laser brazing of the entire body as defined by quality standards
• Responsible for the control of the ultrasonic device and the test mode
• Conduct special audits without inspection plan specification
  • Conduct ultrasonic inspection using ultrasonic probe according to quality standards for entire vehicle shell
  • Conduct ultrasonic testing outside of normal test conditions in special cases
  • Conduct ultrasonic device testing to ensure proper function
  • Coordinate with maintenance to ensure the ultrasonic device’s proper function
• Use the ultrasonic tester to analyze spot-welded joints in reference to the inspection plan
• Provide expert input to establish and modify testing plans. Act as a consultant while working with other departments to establish ultrasonic test parameters (e.g. locations, quantity of points, and amplitude)
• Document, communicate and troubleshoot unsatisfactory ultrasonic tests with the appropriate department; decide if a physical inspection (with peel and/or chisel) is necessary
• Communicate any daily information and any other relevant events during change of shift
• Assist in the organization of teamwork
• Participate in Continuous Improvement Program
• Availability to work Weekends, Holidays and Shutdowns

• High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 5 years of relevant automotive production experience
• Associate’s Degree in a technical trade (NDT, material sciences, welding technology, industrial technology, etc.) and 2 years relevant automotive production experience

• Extensive experience with non-destructive structural testing
• Knowledge of sheet metal processing and data processing
• Certified Radiographic Interpreter preferred
• Previous spot-welding experience preferred

Normal hours of work for first shift are currently Monday to Friday from 6:00am to 2:15pm, normal hours of work for second shift are currently Monday to Thursday from 2:10pm to 10:10pm and Friday from 2:10pm – 11:25pm, normal hours of work for third shift are currently Sunday from 8:50pm to 6:05am and Monday to Thursday from 10:05pm to 6:05am. Hours are subject to change based on the needs of the business.

You may be required to work on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift for training purposes.
