Our North Charleston Machine Assistant positions provide essential support to Machine Operators and are fundamental in ensuring finished product meets customer specs
. These positions work on a production‑rewind machine, palletizing (packing) industrial rolled‑goods, customizing product in preparation for shipment – and providing a pivotal last‑look in our quality‑focused process.
Growth‑training is provided in preparation for transitioning to Machine Operator (which provides an increased wage). Team members are involved in daily manufacturing processes and successful outcomes for our facility and its customers. We’re a small site, with a powerful and caring team.
Must haves include...
- Work safely and follow all plant rules
- Be flexible, engaged and accountable
- Show initiative, be a self‑starter and take ownership of assigned tasks
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 18 years old
- Experience with (and willingness to work) 8, 10 or 12‑hour shifts
- Be able to:
- Participate in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
- Communicate, in English, in a clear and effective manner
- Work independently, as well as part of a team
- Have shift flexibility
- Read/use a tape measure and perform basic math
- Experience in manufacturing or industrial setting
- Warehouse environments that are NOT climate controlled
- Basic computer / keyboard skills
- Stand for 10 - 12 hours straight
- Withstand exposure to temperature extremes; sounds or noise levels that may be uncomfortable
- Do repetitive movements (hand, arm, leg; bending and twisting at the waist; bending at the knee; squatting; lift, push and pull 40‑pounds)
- Climb and descend stairs/ladder as needed for the role
- Handle, control and feel raw materials and finished goods
- Pass drug screenings (pre‑hire and ongoing‑random)
