Job OverviewAssists with preparation of assembly for customized orders. Checks production orders for completeness, compatibility, and accuracy. Performs tests, modifications and repairs to electronical components of vans during assembly within the line.
Requirements- Assists with preparation of assembly orders for customized sizes, and checks for completeness and accuracy
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vans
- Responsible for removing, installing, diagnosing, repairing, disassembling and assembling electrical components mostly according to defined procedure
- Assemble units according to drawings, sketches, or written directions
- Must perform the assembly of the electrical system according to the functional plan and at times perform moderate mechanical rework in order to complete electrical rework
- Performs failure analysis and repairs to electrical parts of the vehicle
- Selects best option from a set of defined procedures and solutions
- Non‑routine issues may be escalated to Rework Technician
- Activates and reassembles defective parts including connectors and wires
- Capturing of VPD data
- Awareness of the hazardousness of fluids which are required for operation of vehicles
- Able to work in confined spaces
- Participates in drafting of corrective measures and carries out function checks
- Expertise using VANIS and understanding of how to identify the correct part numbers and hardware for a specific vehicle
- Capturing of data related to identified failures and generating tally sheets used for reporting purposes on a daily basis
- Completes and ensures availability of appropriate documentation related to the production process
- Works under broad supervision
- Participates in regularly scheduled team meetings
- Will perform other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED
- Required:
2+ years of relevant manufacturing experience; OR Relevant certificate and 1+ years of relevant experience - Preferred: 3+ years of relevant experience; OR Relevant certificate and 2+ years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of automotive diagnostics, electronics, quality methods and concepts
- Experience in automotive manufacturing
- Experience employing manufacturing quality methods
- Microsoft Office (Excel) and QSYS know-how
