Position: Machinist (Full-time – Contract)

Location: Charleston, SC, 29401

Duration: 12+ Months

• Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers, and grinders to produce metal parts to precise specifications.
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications; determine operation sequences and setup methods.
• Use machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments; perform standard shop computations.
• Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions for machining; fit and assemble parts into mechanical equipment.
• Modify NC programs on CNC machines; monitor and verify quality according to control procedures.
• Typically requires formal apprenticeship or equivalent training.

• High School diploma.
• At least 5 years of experience as a machinist or similar roles.
• Ability to read and interpret measurements with precision tools.

Note:

Work involves a production environment requiring orientation, confined space, fall protection, and respiratory training.

Pay Range: $40 - $45/hour (based on experience and other factors).
