Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a Level 1 trauma center OR requiring BLS and scrub experience.

• Position is within the Operating Room of a large academic Level 1 trauma center
• Care provided in a Magnet-designated hospital setting with 21 OR suites covering multiple surgical specialties, including trauma, transplant, ortho, neuro, ENT, GU-GYN, and robotics
• Schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., including Saturday, Sunday, and one weekday
• Floating within scope may be required to meet patient care needs
• Uses EPIC for charting; prior EPIC experience preferred
• Scrub attire is provided
• RN will be expected to scrub and circulate surgical procedures
• The nursing team consists of both Registered Nurses and Certified Surgical Technologists
• Block scheduling may be approved by the manager based on unit needs
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Modules must be completed prior to starting the assignment
• All requested time off must be included at the time of application and is subject to approval
• Holiday coverage may be required per department need
• Expect assignment to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June–November)
• Parking requires a permit and a small registration fee

• Active SC or Compact RN license required
• Minimum two years of recent Operating Room RN experience strongly preferred
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Radiation badge required (provided by agency)
• Level 1 trauma experience required
• Scrub experience strongly preferred
• Social Security card and driver's license must be provided for consideration
• Candidates must not have been employed as perm or PRN staff at the facility within the past year
• Must reside outside of a 60-mile radius unless accepted as a local candidate
