Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a Level 1 trauma center OR requiring BLS and scrub experience.
Responsibilities- Position is within the Operating Room of a large academic Level 1 trauma center
- Care provided in a Magnet-designated hospital setting with 21 OR suites covering multiple surgical specialties, including trauma, transplant, ortho, neuro, ENT, GU-GYN, and robotics
- Schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., including Saturday, Sunday, and one weekday
- Floating within scope may be required to meet patient care needs
- Uses EPIC for charting; prior EPIC experience preferred
- Scrub attire is provided
- RN will be expected to scrub and circulate surgical procedures
- The nursing team consists of both Registered Nurses and Certified Surgical Technologists
- Block scheduling may be approved by the manager based on unit needs
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Modules must be completed prior to starting the assignment
- All requested time off must be included at the time of application and is subject to approval
- Holiday coverage may be required per department need
- Expect assignment to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June–November)
- Parking requires a permit and a small registration fee
- Active SC or Compact RN license required
- Minimum two years of recent Operating Room RN experience strongly preferred
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
- Radiation badge required (provided by agency)
- Level 1 trauma experience required
- Scrub experience strongly preferred
- Social Security card and driver's license must be provided for consideration
- Candidates must not have been employed as perm or PRN staff at the facility within the past year
- Must reside outside of a 60-mile radius unless accepted as a local candidate
