Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool position requiring a minimum of 2 years of Peds ICU experience and an active SC or Compact RN license.
Responsibilities- 13-week contract at a pediatric hospital
- Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool covering multiple units including CVPICU, NICU, and PICU
- Patient ratio of 1:2 to 1:3
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 36 hours/week
- Every other weekend required with holiday rotation
- Floating required to all pediatric units within the children's hospital
- Epic EMR (experience not specified as required)
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply provided they meet the required experience
- Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
- Non-local candidates are prioritized; local candidates (within 60 miles) are considered on a case-by-case basis
- Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local
- Block scheduling may be requested and is subject to manager approval based on unit needs
- All RTO must be submitted at the time of consideration and is subject to unit needs approval
- Pre-start online modules are required to be completed before the assignment begins
- Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all staff and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
- Active SC or Compact/Multi-State RN license; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must be active prior to start
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS and PALS
- Minimum 2 years of Peds ICU experience required
- SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
- ECMO and CRRT experience preferred
