American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring a SC or compact RN license and advanced cardiac certifications.

• Position is based on a 22-bed intermediate PCU/medical-surgical unit in a Level I Trauma Center, Magnet-designated teaching hospital
• Cares for pre- and post-operative transplant, nephrology, and urology patients
• Staffing ratios on the night shift range from 1:3 to 1:4
• Step down and telemetry rooms are centrally monitored, with dedicated bedside monitors for transplant patients
• 3x12 hour day shifts (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM) required
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Floating within scope to other units as needed
• Documentation is completed in Epic
• Role involves monitoring and caring for transplant and complex medical-surgical patients in a PCU setting
• Royal blue or white top with royal blue bottoms required for scrub attire
• Modules must be completed before starting the assignment
• Parking available for a one-time $20 registration fee for garage access
• Local candidates within 60 miles may be considered at a reduced rate, pending HR approval
• Returning staff must have a 1-year separation before being eligible as a traveler
• Time off requests of more than 7 days or including holidays require approval and may delay placement
• Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June to November)
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

• Active SC or multi-state compact RN license required; license must be issued and active prior to start
• American Heart Association (AHA) certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale
• At least 1 year of recent PCU experience required
• Experience caring for transplant, nephrology, or urology patients preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Social Security Number and driver’s license required for consideration
