American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position at a Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated teaching hospital, requiring a SC or Compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of experience.

Job Details

• Night shift position, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), 36 hours/week,

• Float pool role covering Med/Surg floors across the main hospital and Ashley River Tower,

• Patient ratios may vary depending on the unit assigned,

• Every other weekend (EOW) required,

• Holiday rotation required,

• No on-call requirements,

• Charts using Epic EMR,

Job Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact/Multi-State RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered,

• Current BLS certification required (AHA only),

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required,

• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration,

• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Level I Trauma Center, Magnet-designated, academic teaching hospital with 820 staffed beds,

• Online modules must be completed prior to start date,

• All RNs are required to wear solid Royal Blue or White tops with Royal Blue bottoms,

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,

• Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler,

• Local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) are considered on a case-by-case basis; non-local candidates are prioritized,

• Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local,

• RTO requests exceeding 7 days or including holidays require facility approval and may delay the process,

• Block scheduling may be requested but is subject to manager approval and unit needs,

• During hurricane season (June-November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties; peak activity months are August and September,

• A $20 one-time registration fee is required for a parking hang tag, which allows use of the designated parking garage,
