Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Neurology

Charleston, SC

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite | Weekend and holiday rotation required (4–5 weekend shifts per 4-week period)

• Provide direct inpatient nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a General Neurology, Medical Stroke, and Epilepsy Monitoring unit
• Monitor and care for patients with neurological diagnoses including stroke, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular diseases, and seizure disorders
• Support continuous epilepsy monitoring for patients in designated hard-wired monitoring rooms
• Care for overflow neurosurgical and spine surgery patients as needed, floating within scope to meet unit needs
• Participate in weekend rotation and holiday coverage per unit scheduling requirements
• Adhere to a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio within a 23-bed private-room inpatient unit

• Active South Carolina RN license or Multi-State/Compact RN license (SC license must be active prior to start date)
• Minimum 1 year of registered nursing experience
• Current BLS certification
• Ability to float within scope to sister units as needed
• Willingness to participate in emergency response team assignments during hurricane season (June–November)

• ACLS certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Prior experience in a neurology, stroke, or epilepsy monitoring setting

• Work within a specialized neurology unit supporting comprehensive epilepsy and spine programs in a fully private-room inpatient environment
• Gain experience across a diverse neurological patient population including stroke, epilepsy monitoring, and neuromuscular conditions
