Registered Nurse I or II - Endocrinology​/Infectious Disease Clinic

Job Summary

RN I (New Graduate) assists at the advanced beginner level providing individualized, goal‑directed nursing care to patients and families. RN II provides individualized, goal‑directed patient care at the competent level. The role involves intake/triage, rooming for clinic visits, and performing nursing skills such as nursing assessment, administration of first dose IV/IM antibiotics, PICC line maintenance or removal, STIM tests, and other nursing tasks.

The nurse works with a team including CMAs, LPNs, RNs, MDs, NPs, PAs, Social Workers, and Pharmacists.

• Intake/triage and rooming for clinic visits.
• Perform nursing assessment.
• Administration of first dose IV and IM antibiotics.
• PICC line maintenance and removal.
• STIM tests and other nursing tasks.
• Collaborate with the health‑care team to achieve desired outcomes.

• Minimum training and education:
  Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred. RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing must be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and obtain a BSN within four years.
• For RN II: A minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse.
• Licensure:
  Registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers or equivalent).

Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working indoors and outside, from elevated areas, in confined spaces, kneeling, bending, twisting, squatting, pinching, gross and fine motor activities, reaching overhead, repetitive motions, using both legs, balance and coordination. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs unassisted, lift from 36′ to overhead 25 lbs, exert up to 50 lbs of force.

Vision: 20/40 corrected in one or both eyes; hearing: acoustic acuity with correction. Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, latex‑safe environment, and respirator use as required.
