Job Description Summary
This is an as-needed, non-tenure track faculty position within the MSN/DNP Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner and/or Psych Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) tracks. The faculty member will support high-quality student learning through clinical and/or didactic instruction, evaluation, and feedback. These positions may be available in upcoming semesters, based on program needs, course enrollment, and clinical faculty coverage requirements.

Education:
Master s in Nursing required, a DNP or PhD in Nursing is preferred. Experience in lifespan PMH as a nurse practitioner is preferred for those selected to teach in the PMHNP track. Candidates should be eligible for APRN licensure by their state of practice and hold national certification as a nurse practitioner. Current BLS certification is required.
Preferred Experience: Experience in graduate online teaching is preferred; however, motivated candidates without prior teaching experience who meet the educational and professional requirements will be considered. Familiarity with or interest in case-based or problem-based teaching is ideal.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities may include clinical and/or didactic course teaching, based on program needs.
Didactic Course Responsibilities- Managing and grading Discussion Board assignments in accordance with the course rubric, providing timely, constructive feedback that supports student learning and professional growth.
- Overseeing multiple-choice quizzes
, including ensuring content accuracy, monitoring completion timelines, and addressing any student issues related to quiz access or performance. - Grading assignments such as SOAP notes, papers, etc.
- Supporting students’ understanding of advanced practice psych-mental health care
, as presented through assigned readings, videos, discussion boards, assignments, and other course materials. - Collaborating with the course coordinator or lead faculty to ensure consistency and quality of instruction across course sections.
- Communicate with clinical preceptors at the beginning, midpoint, and end of the semester, and as needed, to support student progression and address any concerns.
- Monitor student clinical activities, documentation, and required clinical hours in Typhon.
- Review and provide feedback on assigned clinical work submitted through Typhon.
- Facilitating and implementing innovative teaching strategies including learning intensives
- Support student development of clinical judgment, professionalism, and competency-based progression in the APRN role.
