American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position at a Level I academic trauma center, requiring SC or compact RN licensure and scrub/circulate OR experience.
Details- Main Operating Room within a Level I academic trauma center featuring 21 OR suites
- Covers all surgical specialties including Trauma, Transplant, Ortho, Neuro, ENT, GU-GYN, and Robotics
- Nursing team consists of 75% RNs and 25% Certified Surgical Technologists
- RNs are trained to both scrub and circulate surgical procedures
- Works 3x12-hour Day shifts, 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
- On-call required, up to 4 call shifts every 4 weeks
- Weekend requirement of up to one working weekend shift every 4 weeks
- Floating required within scope to like units or sister facilities
- Uses EPIC EMR system
- Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
- BLS certification required (AHA only)
- Radiation badge required, provided by agency
- 2 years of OR experience strongly preferred
- Scrub experience strongly preferred
- Level I trauma center experience preferred
- Driver's license and SSN required for consideration
- Nurse-driven, Magnet-designated department utilizing cutting-edge surgical technology
- Facility is a Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Facility, and Magnet Hospital with 820 staffed beds
- Scrubs are provided
- Required to work at least one holiday period, either Christmas (Dec 24-26) or New Year's (Dec 31-Jan
1) - Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval based on unit needs
- First-time travelers may be accepted depending on position needs
- Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Local candidates within 60 miles considered on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate
- Non-local candidates are prioritized over local candidates
- During hurricane season (June through November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
- All RTO must be submitted at time of application for approval consideration
