American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN VAD Coordinator for a CVICU position requiring durable mechanical circulatory support device expertise and an active SC or Compact RN license.
Details- Cardiac Mechanical Support Coordinator role within the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) of a hospital setting
- Rounds on both inpatient and outpatient individuals to service and troubleshoot cardiac devices
- Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- Requires 1 weekend per month plus 1 weekday of call
- Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Active South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license required in hand
- BLS certification required (AHA only)
- Minimum 2 years of RN work experience required
- 1 year of clinical experience managing advanced heart failure patients preferred
- 1 year of CTICU and VAD Coordinator experience is a plus
- Strong cardiac background required with experience in VAD, IABP, and Impella devices
- Experience with Durable MCS devices (Heart Mate 3, Heart Ware, BrioVAD), IABP, and Impella devices required
- Hemodynamic monitoring skills required
- EPIC charting system experience required
- Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) for cardiac mechanical support devices, providing device servicing and troubleshooting for inpatient and outpatient populations
- Works within a Level I Trauma Center, teaching facility, and Magnet-designated hospital
- Scrub requirement: solid royal blue or white top with royal blue bottoms
- During hurricane season (June through November, with peak activity in August and September), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
- First-time travelers may be accepted depending on the position
- Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis
- Candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility to be prioritized; local candidates considered at a reduced rate
- Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval, depending on unit needs
